In the third quarter GDP contracted by 0.1% compared to the previous quarter but grew by 0.7% compared to the third quarter of 2017.

For November 2018 it is estimated that there was a rise in retail sales of 0.7% compared to the previous month both in terms of value and of volume.

Rents in the Milan high-street sector continued to rise and have reached 10,000 sqm per year, while in Rome they were unchanged at 7,200 Euro per sqm per year.

Prime yields for the high street were unchanged, while for the malls they were slightly higher reaching 5%.  

The volume of retail investment in the year was again in line with the performance of 2017
